Fishing Report

By Fishing Report | October 5, 2017

The fishing report will be a mirror image of yesterday’s. With even warmer temps forecasted for today. Watch out for the sun bathers sitting in the beach buggy tracks in IBSP today in full violation of the “surf fishing only” beach rules. But that’s another story for another day. Crabbing is still a pick for those willing to give…

Fishing Report

By Fishing Report | October 4, 2017

Another good weather day in the forecast! The surf is starting to show signs of life in the striped bass department, not a ton of keepers by no means, but the schoolies are starting to get a little frisky. Small swimming plugs are drawing the attention of these bass in the surf. Cocktail blues are also in…

Fishing Report

By Fishing Report | October 3, 2017

This is definitely the year of the bluefish! From snapper blues to teen size slammers, in the inlets, in the surf and back in the bay. Just about wherever you wet a line bluefish were present. The surf right now is the scene of cocktail size blues smashing schools of silver sides (spearing) from the…

Fishing Report

By Fishing Report | September 30, 2017

Surf conditions are just about back to normal. The brisk winds today will be coming out of the NW, a very favorable direction for fishing our ocean beaches. Yesterday just a little north of us, bait fish were spotted spraying out of the water, always a good sign! The blackfish bite off the jetty and in…

Fishing Report

By Fishing Report | September 29, 2017

You can’t catch fish if you don’t at least try! With the unfavorable surf conditions the past week, anglers have been giving up on getting their fall run fishing started. But with improving surf conditions along with cooler air temperatures and some bait starting to move things could heat at any time. The bay is still…

>>> Our café WILL BE CLOSED TIL TUES. OCT. 3 rd. for kitchen remodeling. We will reopen with a fresh new look with more delicious choices to our outstanding menu! <<< On the fishing front, still more of the same. Small blues with the occasional short bass out front. Fishing Report

By Fishing Report | September 26, 2017

Just more of the same! Not much fishing activity out front with the bulk of the action, if that’s what you want to call it, remaining in the bay. Blues and small bass are taking lures and bait alike, with a few keeper crabs going to the dyed in the wool crabbers. With cooler nighttime…

Fishing Report

By Fishing Report | September 24, 2017

Not much has changed since my last report. I wish the fishing was as good as the weather, but that’s not the case. A few small bass have been reported out front on bait, in IBSP, around the area of the inlet. Small bass are also showing up in increasing numbers in the back bay.…

Fishing Report

By Fishing Report | September 21, 2017

The rough surf the past few days made the fishing tough, if not impossible. The bay is still holding good size blues and a few short bass in some of the usual spots, along with the good blackfish bite in the canal right now that about sums things up. We are carrying green crabs, fresh salted clams and VP bunker along…

Fishing Report

By Fishing Report | September 19, 2017

Rough couple days ahead, weather wise that is. The surf remains quiet right now, while the back bay still produces blues from local docks and bulkheads. No mullet schools out front yet. Still a bit early in my opinion, I’m guessing closer to the end of the month… John Yac FYI >>> The Dock Café…
