A few small bass were taken on metal and swimmers yesterday in Seaside Hights and also in IBSP. This is a good sign that it’s not over yet, and a great early Christmas present would be some nice December bass! Light NNW winds will make today very fishable, we still have some bait in our area just not a lot of fish in close. Still no word on the sand eel front. I haven’t heard of fish being cleaned that had sand eels in their stomach. So for now clams and cut bunker are your bait…

We are hoping like everyone else that fresh bait will arrive some time today. In the mean while salted clams and vacuum packed bunker will have to fill the bill. Short and sweet or not so sweet at all. What ever bass there is in our area it’s a “in the dark bite” for the surf guys right now. We are hoping this will change soon but without a good showing of sand eels in the wash we don’t have much to hang our hat on……

The large schools of bunker seem to be thinning out and so are the fisherman. Not many guys on the beach yesterday to get a accurate report on what’s happening in our area.
