Cocktail blues were the word at the Casino Fishing Pier yesterday afternoon. The 2-4 lb fish came in thick on the incoming tides nailing metals tipped with a bucktail. There were also a few cow nose rays landed as well. Crabbing on the dock here was so so but the rental boats did a little…

Another beautiful morning here in Seaside Heights. Light NE winds and sunshine… Small blues continue to provide lots of opportunities for anglers in the bay and from the sand…. The crabbing off the pier has slowed but the boats were still doing decent… I’ll post an update later in the day…

Beautiful morning here on the island…Winds are still NE but very light at this time and the Sun has returned to the sky!!! Small blues continue to be caught on metal, bucktails and poppers in Barnegat inlet from the rocks… John

Blues continue to be caught @ the BB buoy on metals and poppers along with some fluke… Crabbing bounced back more quickly then I thought… Our rental boats caught an average of 2-4 dozen keeper blueclaws yesterday and a couple of 1-3lb blues were also caught using cut mullet…John

The phenomenal crabbing has finally slowed to a pick after Monday’s full moon.. Look for the crabbing to improve again by mid to late in the week… Plenty of cocktail blues and hickory shad in the surf for those anglers throwing metals and poppers and a few fluke are also being taken from the sand…John

The oceanfront is again giving up large bass as evidenced by the 42# and 36# fish we just weighed in. Most of the bass are being caught from the kayaks and from the pier… The sand is providing anglers with good catches of small blues on metals and poppers and some fluke have finally started…

The kayaks are killing the bass off ortley beach right now. Just had Al come back with fish to 30lbs. He said the bite has been on since 5:30am. Scott

Yesterday was a hot and heavy bite for the cocktail blues on the casino fishing pier. The guys that were getting were throwing small metals.
