The bluefish finally made a hello call yesterday in both our inlets, Manasquan and Barnegat alike. No blitz by any means but a fair showing by these yellow eyed tackle busters never the less. Action on small bass is starting to heat up out front on the night tides, this action is coming mostly all on bait… John Yac

All the small bass you want is the cry coming from the anglers putting in their time in anticipation of the spring run. These fish are showing up both out front and back in the bay. Great weather forecasted for today! Bait is starting to appear out front and that’s always a good sign. The bay is still producing small to keeper size bass on both bait and lures alike. Fresh bunker are finely in along with nice size bloodworms and fresh clams. No blues yet.
